I qualified as a Social Worker in 1976 and spent a number of years working in hospitals, education and social services. I qualified as a Counsellor in 1995. Since then, I specialised in Assessment and then trained and qualified as a Supervisor.
I have achieved substantial experience built up over many years of counselling, supervising and teaching both in the psychodynamic tradition and by working with colleagues from other models of counselling.
I am a Senior Accredited Member of the BACP and adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics which includes their policy on confidentiality. This can be accessed on www.bacp.co.uk
I have worked in Primary Care, Occupational Health, Further and Higher Education. I have supervised trainee and experienced counsellors, in either group or individual supervision . I held the position of Assistant Clinical Director of Raphael, the Jewish Counselling Service for five years.
For 6 years, I taught the Introduction to Counselling course at Birkbeck (London University Extra-Mural) and as I very much enjoyed teaching I now continue to offer workshops in Active Listening Skills to professionals including Mediators, Stress Management, working with Bereavement, and Assessment Skills and working with infertility.
